The South Australian Chamber of Mines and Energy (SACOME) is the peak industry body representing companies with interests in the South Australian minerals, energy, extractive, and oil & gas sectors, including those who provide services to these companies.

Minerals are South Australia's largest export group; oil & gas has a 50 year history in SA, contributing significantly to the State's economy and jobs. SACOME has grown hand-in-hand with SA's resources industry for almost forty years, supporting its growth in a sustainable manner alongside SA's other valuable industries.

SACOME was founded in 1979, we are a small, dedicated team serving the needs of approximately 220 member organisations. We are governed by a council that oversees organisational priorities and policy direction and are guided by many committees that focus on specific aspects of the industry.

Over the years our activities have helped to shape a positive regulatory environment for our members, saving them time and money. We were instrumental in the investigation of opportunities within the nuclear fuel cycle through our polling and lobbying; we initiated and enabled the Exploration Development Incentive, including developing the model that was later implemented; we have successfully lobbied on many issues and influenced policy, advancing the industry for the benefit of all South Australians. Many of our submissions and activities can be found on our website, or contact our policy staff to find out more.

All minerals and petroleum producers in South Australia are our members, and many leaders of these companies sit on our council. We are highly respected by Government and have strong relationships with State and Federal Government representatives together with the media, who value our industry knowledge. Our enthusiastic and knowledgable team welcome enquiries from anyone, including members of the public, on resources related issues.
