SACOME Resources Treasure Hunt
14 April 2010
What does managing our environment mean? Why is it important? How do explorers and mining companies minimise the impact of their activities on our environment? Are you the inquisitive type? do you want to discover the answers to these questions? If so, take part in our interactive treasure hunt around Adelaide CBD to test your detective skills.
The SACOME treasure hunt promises to be a fun day out, exploring the water, land, air, waste and energy in the city to learn how they’re managed in the resources industry. Suitable for children aged 7-12, this is a free activity to entertain the family during the Easter Holidays. Each participant will receive their own treasure map, take part in interactive activities along the route and be in with a chance to win prizes.
A free treasure hunt will take place every half hour from 10.30am until 3.30pm. Each treasure hunt will take around one and a half hours. To join in, register your team with SACOME. (A team must consist of at least one adult and up to 3 children.)
SACOME is delighted to bring you this action-packed educational activity with support from GHD, Adelaide City Council, South Australian Library, South Australian Museum, Department of Primary Industries and Resources SA, RiAus (Royal Institution of Australia) and the Adelaide Festival Centre.
Bookings for this event will be available online from 15 March 2010. But to reserve your spot, email our Manager, Careers Promotion, Emma Hughes: ehughes@sacome.org.au
