Catherine Mooney
Chief Executive Officer

Catherine is an experienced ASX resources leader with more than twenty‑five years shaping corporate reputation across the energy, mining and local government sectors. Known for her deep industry knowledge and her ability to build collaborative partnerships, she brings a strategic presence to complex operating environments.

Before joining SACOME, Catherine spent more than a decade in the highly regulated energy sector and almost seven years in the mining industry. She is recognised for leading teams through volatile transitions and for translating complex technical and commercial issues into clear, compelling narratives that strengthens stakeholder trust. Equally at ease in the boardroom and on industrial sites, she thrives in roles where she can broker practical solutions across diverse stakeholder interests.

Outside of work, Catherine can usually be found on the sidelines of a sporting pitch managing junior teams or immersed in her passion project - restoring native species on her bush block in the Adelaide Hills. The mix of community and environmental involvement reflects the same practical, collaborative approach she brings to work.
Antonia Mertiris
Director, Member Engagement

Antonia is a senior leader with deep experience across South Australia’s resources and energy sector. She has held executive roles at BHP, IBM and previously at the South Australian Chamber of Mines and Energy (SACOME). She has worked across both Federal and State governments, and in the not-for profit sector. She holds an MBA from the University of Adelaide and is a Graduate of the AICD.

In her previous SACOME role, she worked closely with the Board and member organisations to shape strategic direction, and deliver effective industry advocacy. She led the development of sector-wide strategies and worked with key industry stakeholders and government to deliver outcomes of value to members. At BHP, Antonia held senior leadership roles, with responsibility for large-scale transformation initiatives within a complex, global operating environment.

In recent years, Antonia has been working closely with Boards and Executive teams from industry and government as an independent consultant. She has also held numerous Board roles, and is currently Chair of children's charity Puddle Jumpers.
